Upcoming Program Change
FAME, the NextGen 529 Program Administrator has announced that NextGen 529 Program management services currently provided by Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated (“Merrill”) and its affiliate Financial Data Services, LLC will terminate. FAME has contracted with Sumday Administration, LLC , an affiliate of The Bank of New York Mellon, to serve as the successor program manager, The Bank of New York Mellon to serve as the successor program custodian, BlackRock Advisors, LLC to serve as the successor investment manager, and BlackRock Investments, LLC to serve as the successor program distributor. Program services are expected to transition to the new service providers during or before the fourth quarter of 2021.
Through contracts with one or more of the new service providers, Merrill is expected to continue to provide certain services to the Client Direct Series of the Program after the transition, and Client Select Series accounts are expected to continue to be available through authorized broker-dealers through selling agreements with the successor program distributor.
