What is the $100 Financial Wellness Activity Grant?
The $100 Financial Wellness Activity Grant (FWG) is designed to encourage families to build financial skills and save for their student’s higher education. FWG is limited to one per beneficiary. Grants for Maine Residents are awarded by FAME.
Who can get the $100 Financial Wellness Activity Grant?
Either the account or the student (beneficiary) must be a Maine resident to be eligible for the Financial Wellness Activity Grant and other Grants for Maine Residents. Grants are limited to one per beneficiary.

How is the $100 Financial Wellness Activity Grant awarded?
The account owner must submit the form documenting completion of three unique courses from FAME’s free online financial wellness platform, powered by Enrich. If the account owner has multiple accounts, three additional unique courses and separate forms for each beneficiary must be submitted. Grants are limited to one per beneficiary.
The Financial Wellness Activity Grant is not automatic. FAME awards the grant after the form submission. FAME will send written notification of the grant award.
When it’s time to use my grant, how do I withdraw it?
Withdrawal of grant funds can be made using a withdrawal form. Your account servicer may allow other options for withdrawal, such as online or by phone. Grant funds can only be paid directly to an eligible institution of higher education for current post-secondary expenses. Grant funds, including any earnings, should be used before other funds.
